Slicey is a marketplace platform intended to help customers find independent home bakers, request customized cake orders, and track order progress. It also offers management tools for participating bakers to list products and manage orders.

2. Information we collect
We collect personal information to provide, maintain, and improve our services. The types of data collected include:
- Account and contact details: Name, phone number, email address, account ID, and profile details provided during registration.
- Order and customization details: Selected bakery, cake items, quantity, size, custom notes, messages to be written on cakes, reference images, delivery date/time, and order status.
- Delivery details: Delivery address, recipient name, recipient phone number, and optional device location (GPS) to find nearby bakeries and facilitate accurate delivery.
- Baker information: Bakery name, owner details, address, menu items, product photos, pricing, availability, and payout settings.
- Ratings and feedback: Reviews, ratings, and comments submitted for orders and products.
- Device and usage information: Device identifiers (including FCM push notification tokens), app version, operating system, and basic interaction logs.
3. How we use information
We use the collected information for the following core purposes:
- To create, authenticate, and manage user and baker accounts.
- To display relevant nearby bakeries and products based on location or entered address.
- To process orders, send order updates to bakers, coordinate delivery, and display realtime order status.
- To send essential transactional notifications and customer support communications.
- To display public reviews and ratings on product and bakery profiles.
- To prevent fraud, troubleshoot technical errors, maintain app security, and comply with applicable laws.
4. When information is shared
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information when necessary for order fulfillment and platform functionality, including with:
- Selected Bakers: Order details, recipient name, phone number, and delivery address required to prepare and fulfill your cake order.
- Backend Infrastructure & Push Services: Secure cloud platform services (such as Supabase for data storage and Firebase FCM for push notifications).
- Delivery Partners: Address and contact information needed to deliver the order to your destination.
- Legal Authorities: Disclosed only when required by law, regulation, or legal process to protect rights and safety.
5. Location, notifications, and permissions
Location: If location permission is granted, Slicey uses device location to discover nearby bakeries. You can manually set your delivery address or disable location permissions at any time through your device settings.
Push Notifications: We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send order updates and important notifications. You can turn off push notifications in your device’s app settings.
6. Payments and third-party services
Payment information is processed according to the selected payment method (e.g., cash on delivery or digital payment options). Slicey does not store sensitive card data on its servers. Third-party services integrated into Slicey are subject to their respective privacy practices.
7. Data retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, maintain accurate order history, and comply with legal requirements. We employ industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) in transit and secure database rules to protect user data against unauthorized access.
8. Your choices and Account Deletion Request
You can view and update your profile information directly inside the Slicey app settings.
How to request Account and Data Deletion:
If you wish to permanently delete your Slicey account and all associated personal data, you can submit an account deletion request by emailing us at sliceyapp@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
Required details in your request:
- Your registered full name
- Your registered email address and phone number
Data that will be permanently deleted:
- Account credentials and user profile details
- Saved delivery addresses and location data
- Favorite bakeries/products list
- FCM Push Notification tokens
Data retained for legal compliance:
Completed order transaction records and receipts may be retained for accounting, legal compliance, and tax audit obligations for up to 1 year.
Deletion requests are processed within 7 business days upon verification of account ownership.
9. Children’s privacy
Slicey is intended for users who can legally place orders under applicable local laws. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us for prompt removal.
10. International data processing
Our secure cloud service providers (such as Supabase and Firebase) may process and store database records on secure global servers operating under strict privacy safeguards and TLS encryption.
11. Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect service updates or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
